What we measure, and what we don’t.
We count things a business could reasonably be shown: how many people opened its profile, clicked through to its website, tapped its phone number or asked for directions. We also record what people searched for, because searches that return nothing are how we decide what to publish next.
We do not set advertising cookies, we do not build cross-site profiles, and we do not sell data. Sessions are recorded as a salted hash that changes every day, so repeat activity can be collapsed within a day and cannot be linked across days.
If you send us a message, we store your name, email and what you wrote, so an editor can reply and so we can check the correction. Ask us and we will delete it.
Advertisers are shown aggregate counts of the actions above for their own business. They are never shown anything about an individual visitor.
