Oktoberfest at the Ice District: Four Nights Under the Tent
Not a week-long run: four separate nights at The Tent at Fan Park, spread across two weekends. What that means for buying tickets.
The most common mistake made about Oktoberfest at the Ice District is assuming it runs continuously. It does not. It is four separate ticketed nights spread across two weekends, and turning up on the wrong evening means finding an empty tent.
What it is
A downtown Oktoberfest held under a large tent at Fan Park, in the Ice District beside Rogers Place. Beer, live entertainment, food and the usual apparatus of an Oktoberfest, run over four evenings rather than as a continuous festival. 2026 is its fourth year.
The dates are the important part
In 2026 it runs on the evenings of 25 and 26 September, then 2 and 3 October. Doors open at 5pm each night. Several local listings have described it as running straight through from the 18th, which is not what the organisers publish, so buy from the official page rather than trusting a roundup.
What it costs
Tickets are per night. Each one includes admission and either one alcoholic drink or two non-alcoholic ones, which is a more generous inclusion than most festival tickets and worth factoring in when comparing the price to a night at a bar.
Worth knowing before you go
It is all ages, and children under two do not need a ticket.
The Ice District is as central as Edmonton gets: MacEwan and Corona LRT are both a short walk, which matters at a beer event.
Most of the site is under the tent, so it runs whatever the weather does. Late September and early October evenings here are cold once the sun goes.
